A lot got done at our work party this week. And it was because the turnout was substantial and everyone worked like crazy.
Thanks to Reuben and Michelle, Sue and Miller, Wayne, Brian, Sue R, David C, Ed, Greg, Bill R, and of course Russell. So much was done that I’m not able to know exactly who was where at all times, so here is my best guess.
Sue d. and Michele spent hours cleaning and polishing the deluxe trim. Way harder than it should be. Sue R did the license plate light and the rear door latch. The latch came with the wrong gasket so Sue did the impossible and made a new one entirely from scratch. Did an amazing job! Brian worked on the windshield washer tank, hoses and switch. Used his skills to find out what was repairable and what new parts are needed. So new parts are on the way. Reuben spent some quality time under the bus replacing the brake booster line. Not a fun place to work. He also worked on the sliding door along with Brian, Miller, David C and others. One of the problems with the sliding door was we had put the main seal in oriented incorrectly. Thank heavens for Bill being there to tell us how it was supposed to be installed and then everyone pitching in and basically redoing it… correctly this time. Bill also was key in getting the cargo door sliding and working correctly. We really owe him for his expertise. Wayne was doing his touch up paint magic again. He also worked on the sliding door covers installation. The driver side was doable but the passenger side took Bill, Brian, David C, Wayne, Miller and others to do. It was tough! Thank all of you for your persistence in getting the job done. The teamwork was incredible! Miller also got the interior dome light in and the rear bumper brackets on the bumper. Sue d got the license plate holder in. Brian also did the seals on the engine bay hatch opening. Harder than it looks because of the removable part across the bottom of the engine bay opening. David C also helped out everywhere. He and Reuben figured out what was wrong with the front door latches. They can’t really be repaired so I’ve ordered a replacement for the driver door. Russell did a great job finding parts and helping everyone stay focused on finding the next thing to be done. Quite a talent. And in typical Ed fashion, he was everywhere just getting the next thing done and keeping things moving smoothly. Thanks Ed.
Can’t speak highly enough of Bill’s depth of knowledge and skill level…. He very quietly points out what you missed and how to fix it. On any part of the bus you can imagine. We all owe him a huge Thank You for being there and being such a great teacher.
Greta did it again and came up with another great lunch. Definitely the high point of the day. Thank You Greta.
And thanks to everyone who was there working on our bus. It’s so much fun to watch this bus come together and to be a part of this terrific group.
